Using Insight’s OmniCare HL7 export capablities, The Women’s Imaging Center in Colorado has made it easier for physicians to access their patients’ critical information by sending their radiology reports to CORHIO, Colorado’s Health Information Exchange, which is part of the Contexture network.
This is just one of many technologies available on the OmniCare platform to assist in data interoperability and simplifying workflows, joining OmniCare’s paperless workflow and results automation.
The OmniCare Disease Management Platform has successfully launched a Cervical Cancer Patient Management System. Now lab results can be integrated into OmniCare which then provides all the tracking, follow up, outcomes and reporting that is the trademark of the Omnicare Platform.
Initially OmniCare for Cervical Cancer is live in 2 health systems: The first is The Westchester Medical Group: which has locations throughout NY and also uses OmniCare for it’s Breast and Lung Programs. The second is The Midwest Health Center, of Norfolk, NE, a long time Insight Client of 17 years.
In August 2018, updated screening guidelines were released by the United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF), which calls for cancer screenings
More than 13,000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with cervical cancer each year, and more than 4,000 of women will die. Cervical cancer is the fourth most common type of cancer for women worldwide, but because it develops over time, it is also one of the most preventable types of cancer.
OmniCare is a widely used for Breast Centers, Lung Cancer Screening, Incidental Imaging Findings, Patient Navigation, Pap Smears and more. For more information go to: www.insightmed.com, or call 800-643-0123.

Insight announces that it has launched Patient Portal Integration with its OmniCare Version 8, Disease Management Platforms. Patient and Physician result and follow up letters can now be uploaded to your Patient Portal along with options of email and texting. This integration works with systems such as Athena, Epic, Cerner and other third party platforms.
In addition, our advanced communications module can send clinical notes and documentation made in OmnICare’s patient dashboards and navigation systems to your EHR and Patient Chart. Future upgrades to this integration will include patient input of risk history factors to help determine a patient’s cancer risk assessment.

Lung cancer kills more people each year than breast, colorectal and prostate cancer combined. Annual lung cancer screening with low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) in high-risk patients significantly reduces lung cancer deaths.[1],[2]
Yet, less than 15% of Americans who met previous criteria are tested.[3],[4] The American Cancer Society predicts 131,180 lung cancer deaths in 2022. More-widespread screening could save 30,000–60,000 lives in the United States each year.
Two big changes happened recently. First, Medicare lowered the recommended age for Screening from 50 to 55, and the American College of Radiology (ACR) has updated it’s Lung Cancer Screening Registry (LCSR) to Version 1.6, and beginning the end of September 2022, will not accept older versions.
Omnicare for Lung, a widely used platform to help manage lung screening and pulmonary nodule patients, has been licensed by the ACR for LungRads and the LCSR, since it’s inception and complies with all Medicare data collection requirements. Clients using OmniCare Version 8 will meet this new LCSR requirement.
If you have an older version of OmniCare or are looking for a solution to help you build and grow your Lung Screening Program, contact us at 800-643-0123
August 2021: Encino, CA: Insight’s OmniCare Breast Center Manager has earned the distinction of being certified by the American College of Radiology (ACR) for their National Mammography Database (NMD) V3.0. Being one of a small handful of company’s to be certified, Insight Clients can now automatically submit their data to the NMD through the OmniCare system.
This Omnicare NMD certification and data submission offers Clients additional quality measures to help fulfill Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) reporting requirements. Participation also allows for Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Part IV requirements of the American Board of Radiology (ABR).
The US Preventive Service Task Force (USPSTF) now recommends annual screening for lung cancer with low-dose CT for all adults ages 50 – 80 years who have a 20 pack-year history and currently smoke or have quit within the past 15 years. This expands on previous recommendations for people who were 55 – 75 with a 30 pack year history.
The OmniCare for Lung solution is ready to handle this increase in eligible patients. The ACR has notified us that they are ready to accept all Lung Screening patients into their Lung Cancer Screening Registry (LCSR), and as a certified vendor for LCSR, OmniCare for Lung is ready for these changes.
Barrett Hospital and Healthcare (of MT) Mammography Dept. has implemented Omnicare’s Paperless Patient History Workflow and the Print to PACS feature integrated with their Epic System:
March 2021: Barrett hospital has implemented OmniCare Paperless Workflow Module for improved patient flow and productivity. This feature allows the mammography department to gather mammography patient history and risk factors directly into the OmniCare system, saving and updating the information year after year. In the process of eliminating a paper history form, OmniCare makes it easy to do a NCI or Tyrer Cuzick Risk Assessment for each patient.
At Barrett, OmniCare is fully integrated with their Epic Radiant and EHR with HL7 interfaces. As part of this paperless workflow, Epic sends OmniCare Orders, the techs review patient’s history and risk factors in the system, then with a click of a button, Omnicare’s Print2PACS feature sends a the hx form directly to Barrett’s GE Centricity PACS as a Dicom Image, easily reviewed by the radiologist.
Carson Tahoe Health | Healthcare Network– a major healthcare provider in the Reno-Lake Tahoe region has recently completed a full OmniCare integration with their new Epic system. Carson Tahoe health has been using OmniCare to manage all mammography and breast imaging patient communications, tracking, follow up, and QA since 2004. They have several breast centers serving the region.
With the new Epic integration, all breast imaging orders, results and reports will flow into OmniCare for enhanced workflow and productivity. This integration allows for an automated ACR BIRADS and follow up tracking, and makes for easy ACR and MQSA compliance.
