March 2021: USPSTF updated Lung Cancer Screening Recommendations – Omnicare is ready
The US Preventive Service Task Force (USPSTF) now recommends annual screening for lung cancer with low-dose CT for all adults ages 50 – 80 years who have a 20 pack-year history and currently smoke or have quit within the past 15 years. This expands on previous recommendations for people who were 55 – 75 with a 30 pack year history.
The OmniCare for Lung solution is ready to handle this increase in eligible patients. The ACR has notified us that they are ready to accept all Lung Screening patients into their Lung Cancer Screening Registry (LCSR), and as a certified vendor for LCSR, OmniCare for Lung is ready for these changes.
