March 2021: OmniCare Print to PACS at Barrett Hospital

Barrett Hospital and Healthcare (of MT) Mammography Dept. has implemented Omnicare’s Paperless Patient History Workflow and the Print to PACS feature integrated with their Epic System:

March 2021:  Barrett hospital has implemented OmniCare Paperless Workflow Module for improved patient flow and productivity.  This feature allows the mammography department to gather mammography patient history and risk factors directly into the OmniCare system, saving and updating the information year after year.  In the process of eliminating a paper history form,  OmniCare makes it easy to do a NCI or Tyrer Cuzick Risk Assessment for each patient. 

At Barrett, OmniCare is fully integrated with their Epic Radiant and EHR with HL7 interfaces.  As part of this paperless workflow, Epic sends OmniCare Orders, the techs review patient’s history and risk factors in the system, then with a click of a button, Omnicare’s Print2PACS feature sends a the hx form directly to Barrett’s GE Centricity PACS as a Dicom Image, easily reviewed by the radiologist.
